Unlike urban or large suburban locations, Colonial Beach is a place where many of the friends and families of its patients know each other as well as Westmoreland’s staff. That encourages candid communications and sensitivity to the needs and concerns of our patients. If you visit Westmoreland, you will see some of the many cards and letters we receive about people’s experiences here, a few of which are reproduced below.

I want to compliment your entire staff for the outstanding care my dad has received during three weeks of rehabilitation. He has improved a great deal with his therapy and his spirits are up. I highly recommend Westmoreland to everyone. It is great to know that the small town I live in can provide such great care for senior citizens.

To the administrative staff who have helped us navigate the confusing, and often painful, path to securing quality nursing care: thank you for making our lives so much easier. To the kitchen staff who have provided mother with nourishing and tasty food: thank you so much. To the nursing staff who work so hard to ensure that mom stays as healthy and active as possible: thank you for all the loving care. To the maintenance staff who keep the facility in such good condition and respond to all our concerns: thank you for everything. And to the folks who plan and contribute to all the activities: we so appreciate your making mom’s stay more interesting and enjoyable!

In all the concern and tension of my mother’s recent move to your facility, I would be remiss if I did not thank your fine staff in making this transition less stressful for both of us. The nurses and aides have made my mother feel very welcomed – their care is not just clinical, but kindhearted and personal. She has adjusted well and has told me she is happy with her environment and unafraid. What is most important to me is to see her treated with the respect and dignity she deserves.
