For the next 28 years he worked with the military treating geriatric veterans and their families. His active-duty medical career placed him in Quantico with the Marines, the Naval base in Puerto Rico and at Walter Reed teaching and seeing patients in their outpatient clinics. Dr. Gilstad retired from the military in 2021; he and his wife considered moving to Washington, so he accepted a locum\u2019s position working two weeks on\/off. After a few months, they made the decision to stay in the Georgetown area so his wife could keep working. He has been fully retired for the last year and is eager to get back into a medical office.<\/p>\n<br \/>                <div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n        <div class=\"page-title\" style=\"margin-bottom: 10px;\">\n            <h3 style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\">Dr. Alfonso Brochero<\/h3>\n\n                            <em>Medical Director <\/em><br \/>\n                    <\/div>\n                    <div id=\"staff-photo\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/westmorelandrehab.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2024\/01\/Dr-Alfonso-Brochero.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n                            <p>Dr. Brochero is an experienced hospitalist who has overseen the care of patients in the skilled nursing and long term care settings for the past 12 years. He has filled the role of associate professor and was also assigned the responsibility of mentoring medical students. Dr. Brochero is a board certified Internal Medicine Physician who specializes in post acute and long term care medicine. He is a graduate of Libre University and Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in 2009. His primary focus over the past decade has been to help patients and facilities in post acute care.<\/p>\n<br \/>                <div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n        <div class=\"page-title\" style=\"margin-bottom: 10px;\">\n            <h3 style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\">Amber Lavery, NP<\/h3>\n\n                    <\/div>\n                    <div id=\"staff-photo\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/westmorelandrehab.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32\/2024\/11\/Amber-Lavery.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n                            <p>\u201cI have been a registered nurse for 10 years and recently earned my FNP. I have a background in IMC, ICU, IR, and home hospice. I live in the Northern Neck and have a small farm with chickens, ducks, pigs, mini cows and donkeys. When I&#8217;m not here, you can catch me there or on the water. I am very excited to start this amazing opportunity!
